Syed Ali, M.D.

Dr. Ali is board certified in diagnostic radiology and fellowship trained in MRI and Informatics. He joined Saint Agnes Hospital in June 2010 and serves as the Director of MRI, Ultrasound, and Informatics.

Prior to commencing, Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed a 4 year residency program at the University of Maryland and a fellowship year in MRI and Informatics. At the University of VA, Dr. Ali created a website tutorial for residents on Emergency Ultrasound. During his period at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Dr. Ali published several papers and presented at national conferences.

Dr. Ali’s professional interests include optimization of MRI protocols with special interest in Diffusion Weighted Imaging. Since joining St. Agnes, Dr. Ali has helped establish newer MRI protocols including MR Enterography and Perianal fistula protocols.

Coming from several prestigious institutions known for their teaching, Dr. Ali is committed to fostering an environment of learning. He willingly dedicates his time to collaborate with other disciplines and has thus gained the respect of referring clinicians. Dr. Ali continues to keep pace in the field of radiology traveling to premier institutions nationally and across the globe.
